Introduction

Mt. Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world with an altitude of 8,163m/26,781ft above sea level, impressively standing as a part of the Nepalese Himalayas in the west-central part of Nepal. The word Manaslu is derived from the Sanskrit language which means “MOUNTAIN OF THE SPIRIT”. Mt Manaslu was first ascended by a Japanese expedition team in 1956.

Officially organized Mt. Manaslu Expedition trip with Adventure Mountain Nepal Trekking and climbing team also offers a beautiful experience of Manaslu Circuit Trekking which is one of the popular trekking trails in Nepal. Along the pre-climbing trekking trip, we can have a chance to view 10 major peaks over 6,500 meters from sea level including a few numbers of peaks above 7,000 meters.

Mt. Manaslu Expedition Overview

Trip Features:

  • The predicted trip time is 46 days. Starting from Kathmandu, we hold the expedition briefing for the team members, complete the necessary preparations and paperwork. Next, there is a drive to Sotikhola, from where the first trek of the expedition begins. The walk offers splendid experiences and allows climbers to cherish the beautiful, lush landscapes of Nepal. On day 10 the climbing party arrives at Sama Gaon, a strikingly mesmerizing village of farmers and traders. There is a Buddhist monastery(Sama Gompa) there, as well. A day of acclimatization is planned there Samagaon, before setting out to the Manaslu Base Camp.
  • We plan the climbing period for around 25 days. On summit day, you can observe a sequence of plateaus and moderate slopes on the route, leading up to a steep crest. We can promise you, the view from the top is worth all the effort!
  • The descent route slightly differs. This way, the climbers can get to recognize a larger part of the region surrounding Mount Manaslu. Moreover, varying routes help keep up the curiosity and high spirits of the team.
  • For the full schedule, see the expedition’s detailed itinerary down below.

Who do you think could do it best, if not the local mountaineering veterans at Adventure Mountain Trekking?

The expeditions will only be successful as we take care of the mountains and surrounding areas. That is why, at Adventure Mountain Trekking, we dedicate ourselves to protect nature and its environment of the Himalayan region. We help local communities understand why and how we need to conserve the environment, about our home. We invite you to climb and protect nature with us.

Mt Manaslu Expedition Is For

Before making the decision to attempt the ascent of Mount Manaslu, make sure you meet the essential requirements. You need to be in a very good physical state, healthy, fit, and have better stamina. The expedition includes very long treks and climbs. A single trek can last as long as eight hours per day. High altitude atmosphere conditions must be taken seriously, although Mt. Manaslu is one of the easiest 8,000-meter peaks. Technical mountaineering equipment is very vital in the expedition.

Many mountaineers value Manaslu as a preparation for more technically challenging ascents, such as Everest Expedition.

Great Trip We had a great time in Nepal thanks to Pradip and his team! From landing to take off we were thoroughly looked after. We were greeted at the airport and the same person helped us in Katmandu both sides of the trek, picking us up from our domestic flight and again taking us to the airport at the end. He was always early and received a sweet momento on arrival and departure. Due to weather we unfortunately had to make a last minute decision to change our route; Pradip and the guide See Wa were very accommodating and we easily changed from ACT to Poon Hill and ABC. He quickly sent us a new itinerary and we were picked up the following morning. We were given options as to how we wanted to get to Pokhara and Pradip made this seamless for us. Many trekkers also had to change their route to ABC rather than other routes like ACT and EBC which meant the tea houses were very busy. Our guide ensured that we always had a room to stay in and was flexible with our itinerary if we wanted to walk further/fit in a visit to the hot spring. At times it was a bit difficult to communicate with the guide due to the language barrier and we found we were fitter so would often be walking ahead with one of the porters but over all we had a good experience and would recommend.
