Every year, Bhutanese celebrate this Buddhist festival to honor the Guru Rimpoche, a famous saint responsible for bringing Buddhism in Bhutan. The main highlight of this festival is in the silk Thangka’s unfurling that is so large to cover the face of a building and is the sacred blessing in the entire Bhutan region.

Thangka or thongdroel in Bhutan implies a religious picture scroll that exhibits only for a few hours during the daybreak on the festival’s final day to allow people to get its blessings. Holy scroll also confers liberation only with its sight.

Day 01: Arrival and Sightseeing in Paro (2250m)
While you are in your flight nearby Bhutan, you will find many amazing views of the peaks and mountain ranges belonging to the Himalayan region. Later on, our representatives will greet you at the airport and thereby, you will go to the hotel. After you have your lunch, we will visit the nearby Rimpung Dzong, which refers to the fortress of the jewels heap and further, visit to the Kichu Lhakhang, an old temple of Bhutan.

In addition, you will be able to visit the Victory Fort of Bhutan or Drugyal Dzong set up to commemorate the victory of Bhutanese people against the invaders of Tibet. If this is not enough, sightseeing at Paro lets you to view the second highest mountain of Bhutan i.e. Mount Chomolhari located at the height of 7314meters and finally, you will have your stay during overnight at Paro.

Day 02: Paro Tsechu Festival
On your second day of the tour, you will enjoy the Paro Tsechu Festival, a popular festival celebrated in Bhutan. Here, you will be able to enjoy national dances, including the traditional yet religious mask dances performed usually by monks in the Bhutan area, socialize with the people and receive blessings from the Buddhist monks. Bhutanese people solely believe that every individual should attend Tschechu Festival and witness the traditional mask dance at least for one time in the life, as it not only gives them lots of blessings, but also wash the sins.

Day 03: Drive to Paro Dzong and later on to Thimphu (2320m, 1 hour, 54km)
Today, we will drive to the Paro Dzong to further participate in the Bhutanese Tsechu festivities and witness the famous Thongdrel Ceremony that marking the final day of this annual festival. In the event, you will find a big religious Guru Rinpoche painting designed with clothes and remained unfolded at the side of Dzong.

Later on, our team will drive to take you to Thimphu, where you will have an overnight stay. In Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, you will be able to tour to the Memorial Chorten, the mini-zoo to view Takin, the nunnery temple, the radio tower to get excellent views of the Thimphu Dzong and Thimphu Valley, along with the Bhutanese national animals. After our lunch, we will visit few other landmarks, including the majestic Tashichho Dzong, while have an overnight stay in Thimpu.

Day 04: Drive to Punakha via Dochu La Pass (1300m, 2 to 3 hours)
We will drive to Punakha city of Bhutan by passing through the Dochu La Pass and after that, we proceed downhill from fir, rhododendron and hemlock forests. During our journey, we will visit a fertility temple named Chimi Lhakhang, dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Once you reach at Punakha, you will visit the Punakha Dzong and finally stay overnight in the city.

Day 05: Drive to Bumthang (3300m)
Our team will take you a drive to Bumthang, recognized as the cultural heartland in Bhutan. To reach there, you have to cross the Pele La Pass at the height of 3,300m. Later on, we will stop in Trongsa to have our lunch and visit the Bhutanese masterpiece architecture i.e. Trongsa Dzong. After this, our team will proceed towards Bumthang by passing from hilly forest regions and lush valleys.

Day 06: Sightseeing in Jakar/Bumthang
We will today visit few of the impressive landmarks in Jakar/Bumthang. Firstly, we will visit the valley’s administrative center i.e. Jakar Dzong, later on, we will proceed to two old and famous Bhutanese monasteries named Jambey Lhakhang and Kurjey Lhakhang. Other than this, we will visit to Tamshing Lakhang, recognized as a treasure house containing many interesting religious paintings of Buddhist religion.

Day 07: Drive to Wangdue from Bumthang
Today, we will tour to Bumthang market and further drive towards Wangdue. This is a typical town of Bhutan and it has dramatic Dzongs perched over a ridge across the bend of the nearby river.

Day 08: Return Journey to Paro (124km, 3 to 4 hours)
Now, we will return to Paro by passing from the Dochula La Pass and on our way, we will visit Chimi Lhakhang and the new Druk Wangyal Monastery.

Day 09: Hike to the Tiger Nest/Taktsang Monastery
We will go for a hike to Tiger Nest/Taktsang Monastery for 4 to 5 hours. This is a famous monastery of Bhutan located at the height of 3,180 meters.

Day 10: Departure to the Paro Airport
Our team will depart you to the Paro Airport according to the schedule of your flight.
