Introduction

Island peak climb (also known as ImjaTse) at the level of 6,189 meters with Gokyo to EBC Island peak trek is an amusing experience aimed for an active trekkers and the one with the experience of peak climbing. The reason for this peak to name as an "Island peak" is  due to a view between icebergs just like an Island. It is one of the busy and popular climbing peaks in the Khumbu region which is merged with the Everest Base Camp trek. It was first climbed in 1956 by Hans-Rudolf, Von Gunten and two unknown sherpas; since then many travellers has made a successful climb.

    Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding.

    Duration: Kathmandu to Lukla flight (30 minute) 
                     : Kathmandu to Manthali Airport (4 hrs drive) and         Manthali to Lukla (20 minute flight)

    You will either take a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (30 minute flight) or drive about 4 hours to Manthali Airport, followed by a 20-minute flight to Lukla. After landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, the trek begins with a gentle downhill walk.
    You will pass through Cheplung and Ghat villages, enjoying views of lush green valleys, pine forests, and the beautiful Dudh Koshi River. This region follows Buddhism, so you’ll see prayer flags, mani walls, and stupas along the way. After around 3–4 hours of walking, you’ll reach Phakding, a peaceful riverside village known for its lodges, bakeries, and tea houses. You'll stay overnight at a lodge in Phakding.

    Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar.

    Duration: Approx. 5-6hrs trek
    Distance: Approx. 7.5km

    After breakfast, your trek begins with uphill along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail offers views of forests, waterfalls, and prayer wheels. You’ll catch your first glimpse of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m).
    At Monjo, you’ll enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trail features multiple suspension bridges, including the scenic Tenzing-Hillary Bridge. After that, the climb to Namche Bazaar becomes steeper and more physical demanding.
    After about 2 hours of uphill trekking, you will reach at Namche Bazaar—a vibrant mountain town where tradition meets modernity. Here, you’ll find shops, cafes, bakeries, and beautiful mountain views. After checking into your lodge, enjoy a short walk around in the evening.

    Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion around the places.

    Duration: Approx. 4-5 hrs trek

    Today is your first acclimatization day at Namche Bazar. You will rest to prevent from altitude sickness. After breakfast, you’ll hike up to the famous Everest View Hotel (3,800m). From here, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and more.
    You can relax with a cup of tea or coffee while soaking in the stunning Himalayan scenery. Later, you’ll return to Namche Bazaar for lunch, rest, and an optional evening stroll.

    Trek from Dole to Machhermo.

    Duration: Approx. 4-5hrs trek

    After morning breakfast, we will start our trek through a gradual ascent. The trail leads through an open valley. This day offers views of snow-capped peaks. After passing small settlement villages and yak pastures, you will reach Machhermo. Machhermo is a quiet village from where you will see mountains views.

    Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo Lake.

    Duration: Approx. 4-5hrs trek

    After early morning breakfast, you will start the trek with a slightly uphill climb. The trail then follows a ridge. On the way, we will have beautiful views of Cho Oyu. As you climb up, you will pass many small lakes before reaching Gokyo Lake. Gokyo Lake is not just water—it holds spiritual significance, so it is considered sacred. From there, you will have amazing views of the mountains.

    Early morning ascent to Gokyo Ri and trek to Thangna.

    Duration: Approx. 6 hrs hike 
    Distance: 8 km

    After morning breakfast, we will hike to Gokyo Ri, a popular viewpoint. It offers amazing views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and the Gokyo Lakes below. 

    The trail is rocky and some parts are icy too (depending on the time). It is a short and steady walk. On the way, you will see surrounding mountains view. Thangnak is a small settlement, nestled at the base of Cho La Pass.

    Trek from Thangna to Dzongla via Cho La pass.

    Duration: Approx. 7-8hrs trek 
    Distance: 16 km

    This day, we will have early breakfast and start the trek through an uphill trail—mostly ascending to Cho La Pass. This is the hardest day of the trek. On the way, we will see mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains. Once we reach the summit, you will be surprised with amazing views. Then the trail descends. After walking for about 2 hours, you will reach Zongla, which is nestled below cliffs.

    Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche.

    After morning breakfast, we will start our day slowly. This day’s walk is easy and short, mostly on a flat path with gradual ups and downs. On the way, we will have views of mountains including Lhotse and Nuptse.

    Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and continue to Everest Base Camp then back to Gorakshep.

    Duration: Approx. 7-8 hrs trek
    Distance: Approx. 11.2 km

    Today is one of the most exciting day of the trek. After an early breakfast, trek through glacial moraines and rocky terrain to reach GorakShep. After checking in and having lunch, continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m).
    The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier ridge, and though it’s challenging, the reward is unforgettable. Reaching base camp is a proud and emotional moment. Take photos, enjoy the view, and then return to GorakShep for the night.

    Morning hike to Kalapathar and trek to Lobuche.

    Duration: Approx. 5-6 hrs trek
    Distance: Approx. 10 km

    Wake up early and hike to Kala Patthar, best viewpoint for sunrise over Mount Everest, along with views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Lingtren, and others. It’s a challenging but rewarding.
    After the sunrise view, descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then follow the trail down to Lobuche.

    Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

    Duration: Lukla to Kathmandu flight (30minute)

EBC Via Gokyo lake and Cho La Pass is one of the most challenging routes in the Everest region, crossing Cho La pass. This trek requires essential gear for high altitudes, varying weather, and rough terrain. Here's a comprehensive equipment list to prepare for this rigorous adventure:

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate level of trekking route. Although There are numerous challenges like the rugged terrain, steep slopes, trekking route through stone stairs and continuous walking of 5 to 6 hours per day. That being said, the trek to Annapurna Base Camp Trek is doable and can be undertaken by travelers who have the right attitude and are physically fit.

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the Annapurna Base Camp trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. There are limited WiFi hotspots during the trek which will charge for usage only some will let you use it for free. So, for internet access we recommend you to buy a SIM and use 3G.

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

The permits required for Annapurna Base Camp Trek are:

  • Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) card
  • Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit(ANCAP)

According to the standard itinerary our Annapurna Base Camp trek is of 13 days from your arrival to Kathmandu to farewell at Airport. Normally on the 7th day of trek we will reach the base camp of Mt. Annapurna I which is at the altitude of (4,130m/13,546ft) from sea level. You will have time for a full day excursion and overnight stay at ABC. If you wish to amend the itinerary you have to contact our booking manager he will prepare the itinerary according to your needs.

We will start our trek from Ghandruk (1940m/6363ft) and ascend up to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,546ft). We have created Itinerary in proportion to proper accommodation so normally we don’t need oxygen on this trek. In case of altitude sickness we will descend immediately. If any altitude sickness symptoms are seen then we provide Diamox as a medication.
